We haven't taken any new pictures or videos lately, so here are a few words to tide you over.
Eve had her one year pediatrician visit a week ago (a bit late, yes). The pediatrician said everything looked good and that Eve seems like a very smart child. I told Martha that they probably say that to every parent, and Martha said she didn't care, she still appreciates it. The pediatrician also remarked that Eve's heartbeat stayed calm while the stethoscope was on her chest, whereas most babies' heartbeat speeds up with anxiety. Our child, a cold-blooded sweetheart. Perhaps the most interesting news from the visit is that Eve is now up to the 95th percentile in height and down to the 30th percentile in weight. The height is not shocking, because every week it seems like she can reach something that we thought was not going to be in play for a long time. But the weight is surprising, because the child still has chubby cheeks and a big ole baby gut. Maybe she has helium in her bloodstream?
She is slowly getting more comfortable with walking. She still maxes out at a handful of steps, but she tries it more often each day. Her personality remains very outgoing and good-natured. The outgoing part clearly comes from her dad.
I'll try to post a video of her taking steps sometime this week. We hope all of you are doing well!
