Monkey Girl
What you might not notice in the photos below is that Eve is grabbing her toys with her toes. These are also our first photo with what is becoming Eve's favorite toy: Duckie! A little fuzzy duck with big webbed feet for chewing.

YEAH for Dad!!!!
This is my (Martha's) first blog post EVER, so you know it's a big occasion:
Yesterday, Daniel cleared the first hurdle in the tenure process! Daniel's colleagues voted unanimously to support him. They will vote again in the fall after seeing letters written by reviewers outside the university and there is also a vote at the School of Public Health.
This morning Evie did some extra big, happy bounces in her chair: We're so proud of you, Dad!

home and together again
We just finished a crazy week. Most crazy for Martha, who spent a day in New York, two days in Munich, and a day in North Carolina. Second craziest for Eve, who spent three and a half days without her mom and experienced major gas issues with formula. Third craziest for me, who took care of Eve for two days and three nights and flew with her to North Carolina for the wedding of one of my best childhood friends.
Martha made some great contacts in Munich, one of her favorite places (and she won an award!); Eve gained many admirers at the wedding; and I enjoyed seeing my friends. We're tired. Was it worth it? Probably, though that's easier to say now that we're home!

polling our readers
Martha and I have been surprised to find that our friends in Ann Arbor are nearly unanimous in thinking that Eve resembles one of us more so than the other. We don't see a striking resemblance to either of us at this point.
So let's poll the readers of this blog: Whom does Eve resemble most?
a) Martha
b) Daniel
c) Both equally
d) Neither very much
e) A different relative (specify who)
In the interest of an unbiased poll, I won't reveal what people in Ann Arbor are saying until the poll closes.
