We started off 2018 on a good note by welcoming Oma and Opa Eisenberg for a visit. Although Oma was sick, we managed to take advantage of the mild weather to get outside a fair amount. Another highlight in recent weeks was Eve's birthday party, which we delayed by a month after her actual birthday so that it wouldn't conflict with the holiday break. She decided to hold the party at an indoor climbing gym, Climb Up Aix, which has a lot of good stuff for kids.

trip to Carcassonne, Barcelona, Cadaques (Dec 26-31)
Oops, I've fallen way behind. Here are pictures from a trip between Christmas and New Year's Eve. We spent a day in Carcassonne, three days in Barcelona, and then a day in Cadaques. Barcelona easily lived up to its reputation as one of the best cities to visit in the world, and the other two, smaller places were interesting and beautiful too. We had a great time meeting up with our friends from Ann Arbor, who are spending the year on sabbatical in Barcelona--Dean, Sharon, Teo, and Lana (along with Dean's parents, who were visiting them).
