school field trip, Roland Garros with Niral

Highlights from the first couple weeks of June: a school field trip for the girls in the Luberon valley, and a visit from my friend Niral (he came down to see us in Provence, and then I went up to Paris with him to see Roland Garros and other sites). Also, Eve's piano class finished the year with a flourish by being part of a big music ensemble organized by her wonderful teacher Pascale along with Pascale's husband and son (they are a family who run music lessons in Lambesc and other neighboring towns). Another highlight was a sleepover for the girls with four of their friends (a "soirée pyjama"). And our friends Jean-Luc and Claude showed us an excellent vineyard and wine cellar, Chateau Romanin, along with the nearby village of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. This spring has been setting records for rain in the south of France (and elsewhere in the country, I think), which has been disappointing at times but has made the countryside greener and more beautiful.
