the "goo-goo-guy"

Sometimes Eve will refer to the "goo-goo-guy", often while pointing out the window. We've asked her many questions about who or what this goo-goo-guy is, but her answers have done little to clarify the matter.  She doesn't seem afraid of it...mostly just amused. Maybe it's an imaginary friend or being. Maybe she's just toying with us.

Last week Eve decided to climb out of the crib for the first time. We're pretty sure she's had the ability to do so for a long time, but she was magically holding back out of the goodness of her heart.  We were upstairs when she had her first escape.  We heard her bedroom door open and then she was running down the hall saying "I did it!"  So we asked her to show us again, which is captured in the video below.

For now we're using a crib tent, because it would be difficult to make her room safe for unsupervised romping.  At first she was upset about the tent, but she seems to have accepted it.

Baby Ella received her first piece of business mail last week. And in other news, she is over 8 pounds now!

visit from Baileys

Oma Bailey visited for the first two weeks of Ella's life, and Opa Bailey joined for the last couple days of the visit. We are very grateful for all the help!
