Oklahoma

Our trip to Oklahoma was fun! We saw most of Martha's family, and are especially grateful to Linda and David for hosting us. Eve reveled in the attention from grandparents, uncles, aunts, and especially cousin Elijah. Even though Elijah is mature beyond his years, Eve can sense that he is one of her people. Unfortunately we didn't take many pictures, but we would love to receive them from others who did.

This one isn't exactly War and Peace, but we're glad she likes books!

In the past week Eve has started to point at things frequently. Lights, mirrors, paintings, books, pretty much anything can capture her fancy. And when she points she usually says something that sounds like "ook." I wonder if she is saying "look!" Not sure if I'd call this her first word, but clearly it is some form of deliberate vocal communication. My favorite is when she does the double-barreled pointing (both hands).

We've had a ton of rain this fall, which has kept the fall colors around. It's starting to get cold, though, so the leaves won't last much longer.
